1 to 1 Maths gets a Twitter boost from Theo Paphitis
For immediate release, Merseyside, UK - 29th April 2019
An Ainsdale‐based firm has received a business boost from Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis. Last week, Jennifer, owner of 1 to 1 Maths, tweeted Theo about her business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by Theo to his 500,000 Twitter followers. The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 2500 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.
Business and retail entrepreneur and self-confessed Shopkeeper, Theo re‐tweeted Jennifer’s message to his almost 500,000 followers and as a result, www.1to1mathsboxed.co.uk has hundreds more followers and extra orders for their Maths subscription boxes. They are also profiled on the #SBS website (www.theopaphitissbs.com) that is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.
Jennifer of 1 to 1 Maths said, “I am delighted that my small business, less than a year old, has been chosen by Theo. His support has already raised the profile of my subscription boxes and is enabling me to help even more children to build their confidence and skills, to enjoy learning Maths!”
Small business champion and Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue Chairman, Theo Paphitis, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK. My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish 1 to 1 Maths every success.”
Anyone looking for a re‐tweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5 PM and 7.30 PM and include the hashtag #SBS. Six lucky businesses are re‐tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then invited to enter their profile on the new website, attend the annual #SBS networking event and take advantage of the networking opportunities.

Ainsdale entrepreneur receives #WOW award
from Jacqueline Gold CBE
On 4th July 2019, Jennifer from Ainsdale, was recognised by British businesswoman, Jacqueline Gold CBE, for her success as a female entrepreneur, and awarded with a prestigious #WOW badge.
Jennifer was one of three winners selected by Jacqueline after she entered ‘Women on Wednesday’ – a competition launched by Jacqueline in 2011 to celebrate the growing number of UK female entrepreneurs and businesswomen.
Women on Wednesday (#WOW) takes place every week and is run through Jacqueline’s Twitter page. When selecting the winners, Jacqueline looks for businesses that are interesting, that have strong brand values and that she thinks have potential to grow and succeed in their industry. She looks for quality products and services, well designed websites and entrepreneurs who demonstrate good business acumen and who have spotted a gap in the market that meets the consumer’s needs.
Jennifer McDonald says: “1 to 1 Maths Boxed, a subscription box service, was launched in February 2019 to extend my private tuition service to include a product line, available throughout mainland UK. Helping even more children to enjoy learning maths, to build their confidence and skills whilst having fun! I am delighted for my small business to have been recognised by Jacqueline Gold CBE and awarded her prestigious #WOW badge – it will be displayed with honour.”
Jacqueline Gold says: “1 to 1 Maths Boxed allows children to learn and improve their math skills in a fun way through the use of engaging and educational subject boxes. With a box to suit every stage of learning, these packs allow children to develop at their own pace in their own special way. Jennifer’s passion for education and math ingenuity sets this company apart and I wish her every success in the future.
For me, #WOW is all about inspiring and celebrating female entrepreneurs. My vision is for women in the UK to come together, celebrate their strengths, skills and fantastic businesses, and do all that they can to inspire other women to realise their potential.
The WOW community is a fantastic network which offers female entrepreneurs the opportunity to share advice, support each other, trade and most importantly celebrate their successes!”
